How many dogs do you allow?
We welcome multiple dogs depending on the cottage. We don’t set a limit as such as long as the number and type of breeds are suitable for you and they to be safe and comfortable in the cottage. For example, we have previously welcomed guests with 5 pugs which has worked wonderfully, whereas guests with 3 St. Bernard’s may find the cottage to be too small. Please check each cottage for more information.
Do you have a secure garden?
Yes, all of our cottages which state they have a garden have a secure enclosed garden, with a minimum height of 1 metre, which have been fully meshed to ensure even the smallest of dogs can’t escape!
How high are the fences?
The height of the fences vary at each cottage and further information can be provided. Please check each cottage for more information too.
Where can your dogs go in the cottage?
Anywhere! We invite your dogs to relax where they please, whether that is on the sofas or on the beds. All we ask is that you bring some extra throws should your dog be particularly proficient at shedding its hair, or should they return to the cottage from a walk having got especially wet and muddy!
The only place dogs are not permitted is the Hot Tub!
What happens if I am unable to pay the balance by the due date?
We understand that things crop up and may leave you unable to pay the balance by the due date, so we endeavour to be as flexible as we can and will be happy to discuss and agree an alternative payment plan.
Is it possible to check in earlier or check out later?
To ensure that both cottages can be prepared fully for guest’s arrival, our typical check in time is 5pm and checkout time is 10am. We always try our best to invite guests to arrive earlier or leave later, however, we may not be in a position to do this until nearer the time.
What is the latest we can arrive at the cottage?
There isn’t a cut off point. If you know you will be arriving late or have been stuck in traffic during your journey to the cottage, then don’t worry you can arrive at any time.
Are the pubs dog friendly?
Yes, the majority of the pubs in the area do welcome dogs although we recommend that you confirm this with them before setting off in case they have recently changed their policy or they are hosting a special function.
Is there anything within walking distance of the cottages?
Moss View Cottage and Willow Cottage are our most remote cottages. There is nothing within comfortable walking distance of the cottages except lovely peaceful walks and beautiful scenery. However, the nearby market town of Hawes, the villages of Buckden and Kettlewell, and several wonderful country pubs are all within a 20 to 30 minute drive of the cottages.
Our cottages, Westholme and Croft House are within walking distance of a dog friendly pub and tea rooms. Please check each cottage to find out more information.
What happens if we can’t reach the cottage due to the weather conditions or illness?
It is a guest’s responsibility to be fit and able to travel to the cottage. We strongly recommend that guests ensure they have adequate travel insurance so they can claim in the event of being unable to reach the cottage and fulfil their booking.
