Grassington to Burnsall, Wharfedale
With today offering better forecast of weather, we decided to do our latest featured walk on a Saturday. And we're so pleased we did..
Albeit a bit nippy and crisp, it was an absolutely gorgeous day as we enjoyed this 6 mile walk from Grassington to Burnsall, and back. This is a really easy and relatively flat walk that follows the River Wharfe from the wonderful Linton Falls along the river Bank to the icon suspension bridge at Hebden.
We crossed the bridge (entirely safe but with vertigo it can make you a bit unsteady!), and then continued along the river bank to the ever popular village of Burnsall - a lovely quaint place with a Grade 2 listed early 17th Century bridge.
Stopped for a coffee and a delicious bacon sandwich at The Riverbank Café before following our footsteps back along the river and back to the car.
There were very few sheep about, plenty of people and we met lots of lovely dogs. Also, we saw a Kingfisher - such a special treat!
