Kettlewell - Starbotton loop walk

Emerging from our winter hibernation, today we got out our walking boots once again and set out on a wonderful and steady 4 mile loop walk through the impressive canyon of Wharfedale.

Starting from Kettlewell, we followed the footpath northwards along the river to the footbridge at Starbotton. From here, we then turned left and began the steep ascent following the footpath snaking through the charming woodland before we reached the summit of the hillside and stopped for lunch.

And what a splendid view we were treated to!! Full panoramic views of the 2 mile stretch between Starbotton and Kettlewell, the southern end of Buckden Pike and also the impressive Great Whernside.

This is a superb and fairly easy walk with outstanding views and the reward of 3 excellent pubs to choose from at the end of it!
