Our midweek mooch around Hardraw Force

If you’re staying with us at one of our beautiful cottages, a trip to Hardraw Force is an absolute must! Just a short, scenic drive away over the beautiful Buttertubs Pass, this natural wonder is the highest single-drop waterfall in England and it’s truly breathtaking to see in person.

It’s a lovely, gentle walk to the falls and fully accessible for all members of the family including your four-legged companions who’ll enjoy a relaxed stroll through the peaceful surroundings.

Entry is just £4.00 per person, which goes towards the upkeep of the estate and helps keep this stunning spot well maintained for everyone to enjoy. You’ll also find a small gift shop, coffee shop, and public toilets on-site, along with a real gem of a traditional Yorkshire pub - The Green Dragon Inn . It’s the perfect place to warm up with a hearty meal after your walk.

Hardraw is also a popular stop for walkers on the Pennine Way, or if you fancy stretching your legs a little more, you can make it part of a scenic circular walk from Hawes. However you choose to visit, it’s a beautiful spot to soak up the sights and sounds of the Yorkshire Dales.
